“Philadelphia Inquirer” and “Star Ledger” now offered by Ocean County Library

TOMS RIVER – Read the most recent issues of “The Star Ledger” and “The Philadelphia Inquirer” online with your Ocean County Library card. Free online access means no paywall blocking access and no need to recycle paper.

“The Star Ledger” is the largest circulated newspaper in New Jersey. It is one of the foremost publications for state and national politics, just in time for election season.

“The Philadelphia Inquirer” features world and local news. If you are planning a weekend trip to Philadelphia, their “DoThis” section is devoted to weekend activities in Philadelphia, as well as movies and pop culture.

The online exact reproductions of the daily issues of the newspapers are available the same day of publication starting at 6 a.m. All the stories, images, ads and comics are there.

To access the online newspapers, visit theoceancountylibrary.org, hover over the tab labelled “Resources”, and click “Databases”. Then use the Find a Database search bar to search for either the Philadelphia Inquirer or Star Ledger. Upon locating, click “view”, and then click “open database” on the popup window. Enter your library barcode number and start reading.

If you still want to read these newspapers in the original newsprint, “the Star Ledger” is available in the Toms River, Brick, Lacey, Lakewood, Manchester, Point Pleasant Beach, Point Pleasant Borough, Stafford, Upper Shores, and Waretown branches. “The Philadelphia Inquirer” is available in the Toms River, Little Egg Harbor, Long Beach Island, and Stafford branches.
