All Ocean County Library Branches to Remain Closed Due to New Jersey Executive Order

March 21, 2020

TOMS RIVER – The Ocean County Library will temporarily close to support the proactive measures being taken by the state of New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety Division of New Jersey State Police of Emergency Management Administrative Order No. 2020-3. Administrative Order No. 2020-03 was updated on March 20, 2020 (Executive Order No. 104). The following facilities have been added to the list of facilities closed to members of the public in accordance with paragraph 7 of Executive Order No. 104 (2020): all municipal, county and state public libraries, and all libraries and computer labs at public and private colleges and universities.

All Branches will remain closed to the public for as long as Executive Order No. 104 (2020) remains in effect.

The library is waiving all late fees and will automatically extend the due dates of all books and materials that are checked out. The book drops at all library branches will be closed. Please help the library by not leaving library books and materials outside our doors, but keep them with you until we reopen.

The Ocean County Library’s digital resources and materials, online learning resources, and pre-recorded and live-streamed library programs are available for entertainment, education and information 24-hours a day, seven days a week. “The Ocean County Library truly appreciates the support of Freeholder Director Joseph H. Vicari, longtime library liaison on the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, who cares deeply about our staff and the health and welfare of the residents of our county” said Susan Quinn, Library Director “and also for the leadership of Ruthanne Scaturro, Library Commission Chair, both of whom I have been in constant communication with about this developing situation.”
