August Art Exhibit by Donna Schlichting at Toms River Library

August 08, 2019

TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library will host “She Who Sews Bountifully,” an art exhibit by Donna Schlichting, in the McConnell Gallery throughout the month of August. “She Who Sews Bountifully” consists of fabric art.

Donna Schlichting has had a lifelong interest in sewing and creating fabric art. Her mother fostered her interest in sewing and she took advantage of any class she could take in school, even learning how to use an industrial sewing machine. Schlichting is a member of Ocean Bay Needle Art Embroidery Guild in Tuckerton, New Jersey and the Peach River Quilting Guild of Punta Gorda, Florida.

Schlichting says, “I’ve joined embroidery and quilting guilds which offer skill-building classes, retreats, and shared experiences with quilting artists. I also collect fabrics when I travel to stimulate ideas for putting the materials together into unusual designs.”

The branch is located at 101 Washington Street.

Registration is not required to view this exhibit. For more information, call the branch at 732-349-6200, ext. 5100, or visit theoceancountylibrary.org/events.
