Bobby Darin Archivist to Discuss Darin’s Life and Career at Toms River Library

TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library will host “Beyond the Sea: The Life and Times of Bobby Darin” at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11.

Jimmy Scalia, record producer, disc jockey, and documentarian of American popular music, will speak about the life of musician Bobby Darin through memorabilia, music, and video clips, exploring the achievements, drive, and talent of the legendary entertainer. Scalia is the official archivist of Bobby Darin.

Bobby Darin was a singer, songwriter, and actor who was popular during the 1950s and 1960s. He is most famous for the songs “Mack the Knife,” Splish Splash,” Dream Lover,” and “Beyond the Sea.”

The branch is located at 101 Washington Street.

Free parking is available all day Saturday in the top and middle levels of the parking garage behind the library.
