Celebrate The Solar Eclipse With The Ocean County Library

TOMS RIVER – All branches of the Ocean County Library will have Eclipse Shades available on a first come, first served basis starting August 14th. The library received the Eclipse Shades through a grant from STAR_Net, funded by the NASA @ My Library program.

In addition, the following branches will have solar eclipse themed programs:

  • Barnegat Branch, 609-698-3331, Solar Eclipse Party, 2:30 p.m. Mon., Aug 21. Light snacks and stickers will be available.
  • Beachwood Branch, 732-244-4573, Solar Eclipse, 7 p.m. Mon., Aug 21. Learn about the partial solar eclipse on the night of this incredible event.
  • Island Heights Branch, 732-270-6266, Build a Pin Hole Viewer, 1:30 p.m. Mon., Aug 14. Prepare for the solar eclipse by building a Pin Hole Viewer and Partial Solar Eclipse Viewing, 1:30 p.m. Mon., Aug 21 Watch the partial solar eclipse and play themed games at the Island Heights Pavilion.
  • Little Egg Harbor Branch, 609-294-1197, Solar Eclipse Party, 2:30 p.m. Mon., Aug 21. There will be snacks and games.
  • Plumsted Branch, 609-758-7888, Eclipse Drop-in Craft, 1 p.m. Mon., Aug 14 and Solar Eclipse Craft, 2 p.m. Wed., Aug 16. Drop-in to celebrate the solar eclipse with an interactive eclipse craft.
  • Stafford Branch, 609-597-3381, Solar Eclipse Painting, 3:30 p.m. Fri., Aug 18. Paint a solar eclipse. All materials will be provided.
  • Toms River Branch, 732-349-6200, Solar Eclipse Drop-in Craft, 10:30 a.m. Mon., Aug 21. Drop-in for a fun craft as we prepare for the partial solar eclipse.
  • Tuckerton Branch, 609-296-1470, Bask in the Fun, 2 p.m. Mon., Aug 21. Join in the fun as there will be crafts and activities on hand to prepare for the solar eclipse.
  • Waretown Branch, 609-693-5133, Solar Eclipse Event, 1:30 p.m. Mon., Aug 21. Solar eclipse activities will take place up until the main event. Prior to the event, learn what solar eclipses are and participate in a STEM project.
