TOMS RIVER – Enjoy games, crafts, celebrity chats, and contests for a full week during the Ocean County Library’s FanNation 2021, Monday, November 8 through Sunday, November14. Registration for events is under way at www.theoceancountylibrary.org/teens/fannation.

Enjoy virtual panel discussions with three special guests:

• “Shonen/Shoujo,” Ivan Velez, Jr. – Explore comics for boys and girls with the “Planet Bronx” writer/illustrator, who will share tips for storytelling, character development, and marketing.
• “The Art of Voice Acting,” Aaron Dismuke – Learn the recording process, and how to become a voice actor.
• “Level Up Your Role Play,” Morgan Conroy – Get tips for enhancing your role- play skills in tabletop RPGs from the “Taking Initiative” podcaster.

Let your inner geek groove to the Library’s Freegal FanNation playlist. Get “Take & Make” craft kits at the Library’s Toms River Branch. Read three books in November and be eligible for prizes in OCL’s Beanstack challenge.

Online activities include a “Dungeons and Dragons” adventure, pop culture and K-Pop trivia, and a “Would You Rather” challenge. Visit OCL on YouTube for a ramen-cooking demonstration, a FanNation puppet show, and instructions for special crafts.

The Library’s Spotify channels will feature a discussion of hot new graphic novels and an actual-play “Dungeons and Dragons” podcast that pits OCL librarians against their magical counterparts at Candlekeep.
