Manchester Library to Offer Adult Crafting Programs in March

February 19, 2020

MANCHESTER – In addition to regularly held coloring, knitting, quilting and writing sessions, the Ocean County Library Manchester Branch will add new creative instruction programs in March for adults - both low tech and high tech.

“Creativebug®: The Library's New Maker Database,” 2 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 5. Explore thousands of online arts and crafts classes and workshops taught by renowned artists. New classes are added daily. Work at your own pace. Library staffers will guide you through this fun and exciting database. You’ll be able to make a craft by the end of the session.

“Miniature Canvas Painting,” 2 p.m. Friday, Mar. 20. Create two paintings on real 3”x3” canvasses with acrylic paint. Each participant will also receive a miniature easel for display at home. Choose among a variety of transfer designs or bring your own idea. Realistic or abstract, your own imagination will be the only limit.

“Practical Origami,” 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Mar. 31. Learn the basics of origami by creating simple boxes, folders, dishes, coasters, and picture frames to more challenging and traditional models including "the Crane."

The branch is located at 21 Colonial Drive.

The Friends of the Manchester Library will supply all materials at no cost to participants.

Registration is required for each of these free adult programs. To register, call the branch, 732- 657-7600, or visit www.theoceancountylibrary.org/events.
