Meet Literary Sensation Darcie Little Badger in Ocean County Library’s “Dive into YA” Virtual Series

TOMS RIVER – Acclaimed Lipan Apache writer Dr. Darcie Little Badger, author of the new novel A Snake Falls to Earth, will take part in the Ocean County Library’s “Dive into YA: It’s Not Just for Teens” virtual dialog series, 6 PM Thursday, November 18.

The program aims to show how real issues, vivid writing, diverse characters and imaginative concepts propel Young Adult literature beyond traditional age categories.

The professional Earth scientist weaves traditions and technology into haunting, evocative narratives.

Her Locus Award-winning literary debut, Elatsoe, received five starred reviews, landed on Time Magazine’s 100 best fantasy novels of all time, and was named one of the best books of 2020 by Publishers Weekly.

Her short fiction, nonfiction and graphic narratives have appeared in Marvel’s Voices: Indigenous Voices #1, Nightmare Magazine, Strange Horizons and The Dark.

The series is presented in partnership with Booktowne, Manasquan, NJ. Attendees will receive a 10% discount for Booktowne that can be used through their website.
