MEET THE MUSIC – Hands-on Music Program at the Ocean County Library

February 12, 2019

TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library, 101 Washington Street, Toms River will host a series of programs featuring performances from members of the Garden State Philharmonic with a hands-on segment for children to try out featured instruments. All programs are for children ages 6-12 and their families.

Introduce your child to the joys of classical music through five presentations by the professional musicians of the Garden State Philharmonic and members of the Garden State Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.  Each program will focus on a different musical family of instruments.  Children will learn about the Percussion Family, the Woodwind Family, the String Family, and the Brass Family.

After each presentation, children and their families will be able to try out the instruments of the orchestra featured in the presentation. Come to all the presentations so that you can experience playing all of the instruments.

The fifth program in the series will be a performance by the Garden State Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

The musical instruments for the hands-on portion of the programs graciously provided by Music and Arts.
