Mental Health Provider Fair and Award Ceremony Coming to Toms River Library

TOMS RIVER – The Ocean County Library, in partnership with the Mental Health Awareness Committee of Ocean County and the National Alliance on Mental Illness, will host a mental health provider fair at the Toms River Branch from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1.

Representatives from Ocean County agencies that support children and adults affected by mental illnesses and/or substance abuse will be on hand to discuss available resources and services.

There will be a “Celebrating Wellness” awards ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

The awards ceremony will feature a proclamation presentation form the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, awards presented by the Ocean County Mental Health Awareness Committee honoring community members that have worked to end the stigma associated with mental health conditions. Local fifth grade students will also be honored for their artwork from the “What a Difference a Friend Makes” contest.

Light refreshments will be provided.

The branch is located at 101 Washington Street.

Free parking is available daily after 5 p.m. in the parking garage behind the library or anytime in the county parking garage on Hooper Avenue.
