TOMS RIVER – This summer, Elvis is in the building! Join award-winning Elvis tribute artist and “Elvis-torian” Ruben Castillo for a night of education and song at three Ocean County Library branches:
“The King of Rock n’ Roll: 1956 – 1959,” transports audiences to a time when Elvis was taking the world by storm, appearing on television and early films such as Loving You, Jailhouse Rock, and King Creole.
“The Age of Change: 1968 – 1969,” travels from Memphis, to Vietnam through the Summer of Love on a musical journey with The King, featuring music from his 1968 Comeback Special, From Elvis in Memphis, and his return to Las Vegas in 1969.
“The King – Aloha and Beyond: 1973 – 1977,” pays tribute to the King's final years, including highlights from the Aloha from Hawaii concert, The Jungle Room Sessions, and Elvis’s final show broadcast on CBS.
Ruben Castillo is a musical theater actor and voice-over artist for video games, celebrity impersonations, and children's interactive storybooks.
In addition to emceeing and producing various Elvis contests and productions, Castillo has entertained fans of Boogie Nights in Atlantic City’s Tropicana Hotel since 2018 as emcee “Elvis Estrada.”
