Ocean County Library’s “Dive into YA” Virtual Series To Feature Author-Screenwriter Steve Sheinkin

TOMS RIVER –  The Ocean County Library will introduce award-winning historical adventure author and screenwriter Steve Sheinkin to attendees of his virtual chat, 6 PM Thursday, May 27.

The program is part of the Library’s ongoing “Dive into YA: It’s Not Just for Teens” series, which aims to show how real issues, vivid writing, diverse characters and imaginative concepts propel Young Adult literature and authors beyond traditional age categories. 

Sheinkin creates historically accurate content and packs it with thrills. His newest tale is Born to Fly: The First Women’s Air Race Across America.

A previous work, Bomb: The Race to Build and Steal the World’s Most Dangerous Weapon, earned a Newbery Honor, Siebert Medal, YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction, and was a National Book Award finalist.

The series is presented in partnership with Booktowne, Manasquan, NJ. Attendees will receive a 10% discount for Booktowne that can be used through their website.
