TOMS RIVER – A glance from your window can help naturalists gauge ecology at the shore and beyond. Learn how, during the Ocean County Library’s free virtual presentation, “Become A Citizen Scientist: The Great Backyard Bird Count,” 6:30 PM Tuesday, February 15.

New Jersey Audubon Society member Susan Puder, founder of the Southern Ocean Birding Group at Tuckerton Seaport, will share her knowledge as a wildlife author, photographer and environmental activist.

Conducted by the National Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the Great Backyard Bird Count is a free, fun, and easy way for bird-watchers of all ages to help create a real-time snapshot of bird populations and migrations. It takes place Friday, February 18 through Monday, February 21.

Registration at www.theoceancountylibrary.org/events is required for this free, hour-long virtual program hosted by the Ocean County Library Toms River Branch. Registrants will receive links to the presentation by email.
