Ocean County Library to show "Under One Sky"

JACKSON – The Ocean County Library’s Cultural Awareness Team, in partnership with the Jackson Friends of the Library will provide insight into the Muslim headdress, the hijab, through the film “Under One Sky.”

The program will be held from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Monday, June 12 at the Jackson Branch, 2 Jackson Drive, Jackson, NJ 08527.

Arab women living in North America explain the ideologies behind the veil, as they tear away the labels imposed by both East and West. “Under One Sky” is also available through the Ocean County Library’s database Access Video on Demand. The film will be followed by a Q&A with Mariam Jalabi, Director, Syrian National Coalition, United Nations.
