Ocean County Library to Welcome A.S. King To “Dive Into YA” Author Series

November 19, 2021

TOMS RIVER – Multiple award-winning author A.S. King will take part in the Ocean County Library’s “Dive Into YA: It’s Not Just for Teens” virtual program, 6 PM Thursday, December 9.

The discussion series aims to show how real issues, vivid writing, diverse characters and imaginative concepts propel Young Adult literature beyond traditional age categories.

The Pennsylvania native has been described by The New York Times Book Review as “one of the best YA writers working today.” Her newest novel, Switch, examines isolation and trust in a surreal world in which time stands still.

King’s previous fiction epic, Dig, captured the 2020 Michael L. Printz Award. She is a faculty member of the Vermont College Writing for Children and Young Adults MFA program.

The series is presented in partnership with Booktowne, Manasquan, NJ. Attendees will receive a 10% discount for Booktowne that can be used through their website.

Registration for this free program is required at www.theoceancountylibrary.org/events. Registrants will receive a link by email to join the program.
