TOMS RIVER – Instructional workshops during the Ocean County Library’s 4th Annual Autism Resources Fair will aim to support individuals and families from onset through adulthood. The Fair will take place Saturday, Apr. 18, 10 a.m. at the Toms River Branch.
Participants will receive Certificates of Completion for each workshop attended.
The Fair is the most extensive of its kind to date at the Ocean County Library. Visitors can interact with representatives from local and state autism-related agencies.
Aspiring professionals will be able to learn about Applied Behavior Analysis programs offered by Georgian Court, Kean and Rutgers Universities, and discuss possible supervised field work with agencies that provide ABA therapy.
Other Fair features will include “Songs & Silliness” by Mr. Jon & Friends, a sensory play area, therapy dogs, trivia for teens, an adult creative space, balloon art by Cheryl Schwendel, and face painting and costumed characters by A Land and Sea Mermaid.
Registration is not required to attend this free event. Registration for each workshop and for “Songs & Silliness” begins March 1.
The branch is located at 101 Washington Street. All workshops will take place in the Bishop Building.
