Program on State Agencies for Assisting Families Affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder Coming to Toms River Library

February 25, 2019

TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library will host “Navigating New Jersey’s Service Systems for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Other Developmental Disabilities” in Mancini Hall at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 2.

Jonathan Sabin, LSW, Director of the Office on Autism and the Office for the Prevention of Developmental Disabilities, will discuss the roles of state agencies in assisting families affected by autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

The Department of Health, Children and Families, Education, Human Services, Consumer Affairs, and Labor and Workforce Development all provide important programs and services to people living with developmental disabilities. Knowing which department to reach out to and when can be confusing. This presentation will provide consumers, families, teachers, and therapists with information on how New Jersey’s government is designed to help with people living with ASD and other developmental disabilities.

This program is presented in partnership with Ocean County College.

The branch is located at 101 Washington Street in Toms River.

Registration is required for this free program. To register, call the branch at 732-349-6200 or visit theoceancountylibrary.org/events.
