TOMS RIVER – Teens with designing skills can become tomorrow’s trendsetters, with help from an experienced entrepreneur. Join celebrity fashion stylist and Lacey Township native Gina LaMorte for “Designing Your Dreams and How to Achieve Them,” 3 PM Tuesday, May 2, at the Ocean County Library Toms River Branch.

During the program for young adults aged 13 to 18, Gina will discuss the steps she took to advance her career, describe the development of her multi-platform business as a designer, author, and speaker, and encourage teens to learn from her experiences.

The Lacey Township High School and Fashion Institute of Technology graduate studied marketing in Paris, London, Milan and Venice, developed skills in the couture house of Yves St. Laurent, and learned from icons including Gianni Versace and Vidal Sassoon.

Gina’s long list of designer and celebrity collaborators includes Katy Perry, Seal, Michael Kors, Zang Toi, Cobie Smulders, Calvin Klein, Usher, Missy Elliott, the Real Housewives of New Jersey, and many more.

Her fashion tips have appeared in O – The Oprah Magazine, People, Women’s World, the Los Angeles Times, Associated Press, AOL, Yahoo!, and more. She speaks and hosts DREAM conferences nationwide, co-hosted a radio series about fashion, and founded the environmentally-aware fashion magazine Boho.
