See New Jersey through the Eyes of George Washington with a Historical Program by the Ocean County Library

MANAHAWKIN – Experience the Garden State as it was during the American Revolution in “George Washington Remembers New Jersey” at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 15. This program, hosted by the Ocean County Library, will take place at the Old Baptist Church on the corner of Route 9 and North Lakeshore Drive in Manahawkin.

Join General Washington, portrayed by historical actor David Emerson, as he reminisces about his time in New Jersey. Washington was no stranger to the state, from Trenton to Princeton, Morristown to Monmouth, the General spent more time here than in any other state. Hear Washington’s brightest and darkest moments during the battles and encampments of the “Cockpit of the Revolution."

David Emerson’s has been storytelling as a historical interpreter since the early 1980s. He has performed for hundreds of museums, festivals, cultural organizations, and historical societies throughout the northeast.
