September Programs for Adults at Jackson Library

JACKSON – The Jackson Branch of the Ocean County Library will host various programs for adults throughout September.

“National Mushroom Month: Uncovering the Fascinating World of Mushrooms” 2 p.m. Saturday, Sep. 14. Learn all about mushrooms. Taste and view a variety of mushrooms with enthusiast Gina Conti.

“Celebrate Hispanic Cuisine in Honor of Hispanic Heritage Month” 11 a.m. Monday, Sep. 16. Join Jennifer Klein, Registered Dietician with the Perlmutter Family ShopRites, for a taste of Hispanic cuisine.

“Prostate Health” 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sep. 17. Come learn about healthy bladder habits and how a physical therapist can help, presented by Jamie Scomak of Inner Dynamics Physical Therapy of Toms River. This program is made possible through the Partnerhsip for a Healthier Ocean County.

“National Sewing Month: Learn to Sew a Decorative Banana Pillow” 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sep. 24. Create a beautiful pillow for your home or for a gift. Register for only one session due to limited seating. Participants should bring a bag of batting/pillow stuffing, all other supplies will be provided.

“Alborada Spanish Tapas” 2 p.m. Saturday, Sep. 28. The Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre will perform “Dance of Spain” showcasing flamenco, classical, and regional dances using castanets, fans, and beautiful costumes.
