Stay Ahead of Scammers with the Ocean County Library and Stafford Police

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP – From identity theft to “phishing,” reports of financial fraud in the United States continue unabated. Learn ways to avoid becoming a victim during a live program at the Ocean County Library Stafford Branch, 10 AM Thursday, September 8.

“Common Scams and How to Avoid Them” will be led by Officer Marisa Lawrence, the Stafford Township Police Department Community Outreach Officer. She will shed light on scams most frequently aimed at New Jersey residents.

Officer Lawrence will also detail ways to identify common “red flags,” how to safeguard against victimization, and what steps to take if you, or someone you know, becomes a scam victim.

Registration at www.theoceancountylibrary.org/events is required to attend this free program, sponsored by Friends of the Stafford Library.
